‘I Love The Way He Plays’ – Balotelli Praises Semenyo

Mario Balotelli has singled out Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo for praise for his sterling performance, describing the Black Stars attacker as one of the most exciting players to watch in the squad.

Speaking during coverage of Ghana’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Balotelli admitted he was impressed by Semenyo’s style and energy, highlighting his direct approach and physical presence in attack.

“Semenyo, I love the way he plays, it’s very good,” Balotelli said.

He further added that the current Ghana squad overall has quality and potential going forward.

Despite Ghana’s defeat to Croatia through a late Nikola Vlasic strike, Semenyo remained one of the focal points in attack, constantly trying to stretch the Croatian defence and create openings.

Although he was largely contained during the match, his performances with his club has already drawn attention.

Balotelli also referenced Ghana’s past, suggesting the 2010 World Cup team set a high standard, but insisted the current generation is showing promise as they progress into the knockout stage.

“They’re good. I think the 2010 was the best team from Ghana. But this 2026 team is good to be honest,” he added.
