Man Dies After Stabbing Himself While Demonstrating His Spiritual Powers

A tragic incident has been reported in Salaga in the Savannah Region after a young man lost his life following a dangerous act performed during activities associated with the annual Fire Festival celebrations.

According to a citinewsroom.com report, the deceased, identified as Sheihu and believed to be in his early twenties, reportedly sustained critical injuries after using a knife on himself before a large gathering of spectators on June 24, 2026.

According to accounts from witnesses, the incident occurred during an event organised by local youth groups as part of the festivities marking this year’s Fire Festival.

Residents said the young man appeared to be attempting to demonstrate what many perceived as extraordinary or supernatural powers in front of the crowd.

However, the act took a tragic turn when he stabbed himself and suffered severe injuries. People at the scene rushed to assist him before he was transported to the Salaga Government Hospital for emergency medical attention.

However, despite the efforts of health professionals to save his life, Sheihu was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
