Adwoa Safo Was Targeted In Coordinated Attack – Family Spokesperson Alleges

The spokesperson for the family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo, Dr Emmanuel Boakye, has alleged that former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo was the target of a planned assassination attempt linked to an ongoing succession dispute within the Kristo Asafo Mission and its associated business empire.

He made the claim during an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, June 22, insisting that the incident was not a spontaneous confrontation but a coordinated operation aimed at eliminating the former legislator.

According to him, the alleged attack is connected to tensions over leadership succession following the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, with rival claims reportedly emerging between Adwoa Safo and her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

Dr Boakye alleged that individuals were mobilised specifically to carry out the attack on the former MP.

“I’m not a lawyer, but I can tell you it was an attempt to kill an individual. The family was shocked, the siblings, everybody was shocked,” he said.

He questioned the alleged actions of the attackers, describing them as unacceptable and deeply disturbing

“How can you, in your right sense, point a gun at your own sister, whatever crime she has committed? No way,” he added.

He further claimed that some of those involved were employees of KPS, while others reportedly arrived at the scene early on the day of the incident for what he described as a planned operation.

“Some of them are employees of KPS. The other group, about 20 of them, came there at dawn for an operation. The operation was to eliminate Adwoa Safo,” he alleged.

The opposing faction has denied the allegations, while the Ghana Police Service continues its investigations into the incident.

Family sources say Sarah Adwoa Safo, who sustained injuries during the confrontation, is recovering steadily and responding well to treatment.
