The Western Regional Police Command has arrested and secured the remand of a 45-year-old ex-convict, Kudjo Ntow, following the horrific rape and murder of his wife’s 17-year-old niece, Olivia Kwofie, at Agona Nkwanta.
According to an official police statement issued on June 4, 2026, the gruesome incident took place in the early hours of Monday, June 1, 2026.
The suspect allegedly used super glue to seal the teenagerβs mouth, forcibly raped her, and subsequently murdered her before fleeing the scene.
The tragedy unfolded around 3:30 AM when a local witness, Samuel Kingsford Kwofie, heard desperate cries for help near the School B area, close to the Agona Nkwanta Fire Service Station, while heading to his rubber plantation.
Upon investigating the noise, Kwofie discovered Olivia Kwofie sitting naked on the ground, her hands and legs tightly bound with rope.
The witness untied the victim and attempted to escort her to the local police station for safety.
However, the suspect ambushed them from behind during the transit, striking the teenager with a cement block before escaping into the night.
Police officers arrived to find the 17-year-old lying in a pool of blood with severe facial lacerations.
She was rushed to the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic for emergency medical attention but was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
