Ghanaian comedian Funny Face has expressed regret over the choice of life partner he made during the early stages of his career.
In an interview with Kula shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on May 21, 2026, Funny Face revealed that he regrets not marrying actress Esi from the popular TV series Chorkor Trotro.
According to him, not settling down with Esi remains one of the biggest mistakes of his life, adding that the actress genuinely cared for him even before he rose to fame.
Funny Face explained that fame clouded his judgment at the time, making him fail to appreciate the genuine love and support Esi showed him during his journey to stardom.
“I should have married Esi, the lady I used to act with in Chorkor Trotro. We were not dating, but now, after all these years, I realise I should have settled down with her. She cared for me genuinely. She was there when I was still coming up, even after Adebayor gave me the Range Rover in 2012.
“That girl didn’t even care about the Range Rover. Sometimes, after a movie set, she would just leave on her own. Some ladies would have waited for me so we could leave together because of the car and fame, but she never behaved that way. Back then, fame had clouded my judgment,” he said.
Reflecting further on his regrets, Funny Face advised young men to value and remain loyal to women who support them before success and fame arrive.
“When you finally make it in life, I’m not saying there is no true love, but the woman who stood by you before the fame is usually the genuine one. Those kinds of women are rare, maybe one out of ten.
“Because at that stage, she has nothing to gain from you. She shows you genuine love. That is why I have regrets today because I had such women in my life. I had about two of them,” he added.
