The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has criticized the current direction of governance under President John Dramani Mahama.
Yandoh took issue with policies such as the Nkoko Nketenkete initiative, describing it as lacking clear vision and not aligned with the expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking on Wontumi TV’s morning show, he stated that although citizens may have reservations about certain government policies, they are often left with no option but to comply.
He further accused the administration of neglecting farmers, particularly cocoa farmers, who he said play a vital role in Ghana’s economy and sustain many livelihoods.
“Cocoa farmers are the backbone of our economy. The government has not treated them well,” Yandoh said.
He therefore called on President Mahama to prioritize farmers by increasing cocoa prices to improve their living conditions and sustain the agricultural sector.
“The President must look to our farmers and support them by increasing cocoa prices,” he added.
