Biography Of Namuru Tamiru

Namuru Tahiru is a Ghanaian politician, entrepreneur, farmer, and former athlete, born on 25th October 1980 in Tumu in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He is married and a proud father of five children.

He began his early education at Saint Gabriel Primary and Junior Secondary School in Tumu, where he completed his basic education in 1997. He furthered his studies at Tumu Secondary Technical School from 1998 to 2001.

After completing secondary school, he moved to Kumasi to pursue vocational training in fashion design and tailoring. Between 2001 and 2004, he also built a career in football as a goalkeeper, playing for Kumasi King Faisal Football Club. His talent earned him further recognition in Burkina Faso, where he was named Best Goalkeeper in the Province de Sissili, Leo from 2005 to 2007.

Following his football career, Namuru Tahiru transitioned into agriculture, becoming a farmer and engaging in the rearing of animals, contributing to food production and rural development.

His passion for leadership led him into politics, where he contested as a parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the United Front Party (UFP) in both 2012 and 2016.

In 2018, driven by a strong vision for political transformation and independent leadership, he began the process of forming his own political party, the Action Alliance Party (AAP). His efforts led to the party receiving its provisional certificate in 2020, and later its final certificate on 2nd October 2024, marking its full recognition.

Continuing to strengthen the party’s structure and national presence, the Action Alliance Party held its National Congress on 25th March 2026.

Namuru Tahiru is recognized as one of the youngest founders of a political party in Ghana’s history. He remains a committed leader, dedicated to advancing national development, empowering the youth, and improving livelihoods through politics, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
