Former Vice President and 2028 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) that the party remains determined and will not be intimidated by alleged arrest threats.
Speaking during an engagement with student leaders and members of TESCON, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the important role of the youth in shaping the future leadership of both the NPP and the country.
According to him, the party is focused on grooming and empowering young people to prepare them for leadership positions ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“The 2028 election is going to be dominated by the youth, and that is why the party is going to make more effort on TESCON than they did in 2024,” he stated.
Dr. Bawumia noted that young people cannot take up key leadership roles unless they are adequately trained and prepared for the responsibilities ahead.
He further assured party supporters that the NPP remains resolute despite political pressure and threats.
“I want to make it clear that the NPP will not be intimidated. They will arrest us and we will still come back,” he declared.
Dr. Bawumia also reiterated the NPP’s determination to work hard towards victory in the 2028 general elections.
