Chairman Wontumi Unveils Campaign Team For National Chairmanship Bid

Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially outdoored his campaign team ahead of the upcoming National Chairman contest of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following what the campaign described as extensive nationwide consultations with party stakeholders and grassroots supporters.

The announcement, contained in a press release issued by the spokesperson for the campaign team, said the consultations had positioned Chairman Wontumi prominently among prospective contenders for the party’s top organisational role.

The newly constituted campaign team brings together a blend of experienced political figures and emerging party leaders, a move the campaign says reflects the growing confidence, goodwill, and support Chairman Wontumi continues to enjoy across the various structures of the NPP.

Leading the campaign team as Campaign Chairman is Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, former Member of Parliament for Sunyani East and former Majority Chief Whip of Parliament.

Serving as Campaign Manager is George Boahen Oduro, former Member of Parliament for New Edubiase and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture.

The campaign structure also includes several prominent personalities within the party, among them George Mireku Duker, former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources; Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and former Deputy Minister of Finance; and Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Others named on the team include Moses Anim, Justina Marigold Assan, Akua Afriyie, and Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.

According to the statement, Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in the competence, experience, and collective capacity of the team to prosecute a disciplined, issue-driven, and successful campaign. The release further stated that he views the composition of the team as a reflection of unity, inclusiveness, and growing grassroots confidence in his vision for the future of the party.

The statement added that Chairman Wontumi remains committed to a campaign anchored on party unity, organisational strengthening, grassroots mobilisation, and the broader objective of repositioning the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.

The press release was signed by David Boakye, spokesperson for the National Campaign Team.
