Prior to Mr. George Akuffo Dampare’s elevation as Inspector General of Police, the Bono Regional of the New Patriotic Party claims he told him he was incompetent to occupy the position.
Mr. Kwame Baffoe Abronye stated on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Movementtvonline.com that Mr. Dampare pleaded to him to use his popularity in Bono region to support him.
But Abronye added that he denied the request and plainly told Mr. Dampare that his inability to mention the names of the killers of the late J.B. Danquah made him skeptical about him occupying such a revered position in the Police service.
“You can’t buy me…I am not a pauper”, Abronye said and added that “I told Dampare that he is incompetent to be IGP. Ask Ralph, the brother of Hon, Kennedy Agyapong whether this meeting didn’t happen at his house at Haatso”, Abronye said as he built his case.
