“Sack Her, Don’t Defend Her” — Dr. Sampson Anomah Blasts Julius Debrah Over Free Zones CEO Controversy

Dr. Sampson Anomah has criticized the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, over his handling of comments made by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Dr. Mary Awusi, describing his response as inappropriate.

According to Dr. Anomah, the Chief of Staff should not have publicly defended Dr. Awusi after she allegedly made remarks considered offensive toward the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye. He argued that the appropriate action would have been her dismissal, given that the Chief of Staff is responsible for her appointment.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Dr. Anomah further accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of hypocrisy and a lack of respect for Ghanaian cultural and religious leadership.

He also questioned Julius Debrah’s leadership capabilities, arguing that his inability to discipline his appointees raises concerns about his suitability for higher office.

“If you cannot discipline your own people, then you lack the experience to lead as President,” he stated.

Dr. Anomah also dismissed Dr. Awusi’s apology as insincere, saying it failed to reflect genuine remorse. He referenced parts of her statement in Twi, suggesting it did not amount to a full acceptance of wrongdoing.

Additionally, he urged the Chief of Staff to concentrate on governance responsibilities rather than what he described as emotional public reactions, insisting that proper disciplinary action should be taken against the Free Zones Authority CEO.

He further broadened his criticism to national politics, accusing the NDC of failing to meet public expectations. He predicted that voters could shift support to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 elections, citing ongoing economic concerns as a major influence.
