Yolo Star, John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba, has broken his silence on recent social media regarding claims that businessman Ibrahim Mahama has stepped in to financially support him.
For some time now, Drogba has been in the media spotlight, appealing to the public for assistance with his medical treatment.
His health struggles have since drawn massive attention, sparking conversations about the support he has received and the challenges he continues to face.
In the midst of the his, some netizens have taken to social media to allege that businessman Ibrahim Mahama had intervened to foot an $88,000 medical bill for the actor.
But in reaction to this, Drogba has refuted the claims, noting that he has not received any help from Ibrahim Mahama.
In an X post sighted by GhanaWeb on April 30, 2026, he said the false news has prevented potential donors from helping him; hence, individuals involved in spreading such information should refrain from it.
“Because of false news, all real help has ceased. People say Ibrahim Mahama has ‘stepped in.’
“Stepping in’ means he contacted me. He hasn’t. I’ve heard nothing from his team. If he helps me, I’ll thank him here first. These rumors have serious consequences,” he said.
