‘Your Friend Is Giving You Nutrients’ – Stonebwoy’s Hilarious Cat-Eating Confession

While the debate on the ethics of eating cats and dogs in Ghana still wages on, Afro-Dancehall star Stonebwoy left the crew of UK-based podcast The Rated Show in stitches when he shared confessions about eating pets during his childhood.

The Ghanaian music icon, who owns a dog himself, acknowledged it is a known practice in parts of Ghana, particularly in the north, describing it as “a normal thing up there.”

He revealed his own father might have traded their family dog to a butcher.

“Two times, my dad sold our dog in the house to one of those guys there. I don’t know, the dog started being unruly, so he sold it off. I knew the dog was going to come up on the shelf. My mum was so pissed,” he said.

As for whether he himself has eaten dog, the ‘Sobolo’ hitmaker denied knowingly eating one, although acknowledging that he might have eaten unidentified meat as a kebab.

“I don’t eat dogs. I don’t know if I’m allergic or not, but I eat kebabs; maybe they put it in there. To be honest, I might have eaten snakes and all that,” he stated.

He, however, confessed that he has consumed another beloved pet.

“I’ve eaten cats, I know for sure. We grew up with cats. We loved our cats. But when the cats become too much and become unruly, it’s not even about them becoming unruly. We just ate them. Don’t judge me,” he confessed while the podcasters laughed.

Bringing up his father again, Stonebwoy shared how he and his siblings dreaded the presence of a particular uncle who would often team up with his father to catch a cat.

“I have one uncle; immediately he comes to the house on a certain level, you know he and my dad have a plan because they catch the cats, and my siblings and I would just be sad because they were our friends,” he said.

But then, he said, something remarkable would happen.

“When you smell the aroma and the spices, bro, you will forget the friendship.

“Imagine your friend could be that useful to you after they die. Your friend is giving you nutrients!” he said, drawing another round of laughter.
