George Ackom of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the government to prioritize economic development instead of targeting political opponents.
He accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of selective justice.
“Some people are targeted, while others making serious claims are ignored,” he said.
Referencing remarks by Kwame Asare Obeng, he questioned the lack of investigations.
“Why have those allegations not been investigated?” he asked.
Mr. Ackom stressed that Ghanaians expect better governance. “What people need now is jobs, economic stability, and better living conditions—not intimidation,” he stated.
He also warned against misinterpreting the opposition’s restraint. “The NPP respects democracy and human rights, but that should not be mistaken for weakness,” he added.
