Actress and entrepreneur Akuapem Poloo has addressed online speculation linking her to a group of suspected armed robbers who were recently arrested in connection with alleged gold jewellery theft.
The claims began circulating after she shared a video showing the alleged armed robbers visiting her shop.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on April 7, 2026, Akuapem Poloo clarified that she has no personal relationship with the men.
She explained that they were simply customers who came to her shop to make purchases, and she made videos with them.
“They are not my friends. I only met them that day because they came to purchase from my shop. Whenever I am around, I often record videos of customers for promotion, but I always ask for their permission first. That video was one of many; it does not mean I know them personally, and I have not seen them since,” she clarified.
She further noted that she only became aware of the alleged involvement of the individuals in the robbery case four days after posting the video.
According to her, the situation escalated when social media users began tagging her and drawing connections between her and the suspects.
“People were saying the police should call me to assist with investigations. Investigations for what? I don’t know them. In the video, you can clearly see I was only showing my products to them for sale,” she emphasised.
The video in question showed two men visiting her shop at Osu, where she sells items including her Tombrown powder and honey.
In the video, Poloo is seen engaging with the men while presenting her products as part of her usual sales and promotional activity.
The two individuals have been identified as Abdul Aziz Mamoud, 40, and Edgar Dongar, 33.
They were arrested over their alleged involvement in a gold shop robbery.
After their arrest, the video resurfaced and sparked online discussions, with some users suggesting a possible link between Akuapem Poloo and the suspects.
