The Minority MP visits cocoa farmers at Adanse Akrofrom, vowing to fight the NDC government until the slashed producer price is fully reversed and warning there will be “Government will have no peace” until justice is served

The Deputy Minority Leader who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Hon Patricia Appiagyei, has issued a bold declaration to the NDC government the Minority will not back down until the slashed cocoa producer price is fully restored to farmers.
Speaking to cocoa farmers during the Minority’s tour of cocoa growing communities at Adanse Akrofrom in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Appiagyei said the opposition remains determined to push the government to reverse the unfair decision made by government.
She told farmers that the Minority has a strong case against the government’s decision, but stressed that their fight would need the active support of the farmer themselves.
“We have come to experience the reality on the ground and share with you the mistakes government made that led to this price reduction”
The Deputy Minority Leader argued that the current cocoa price reduction was a result of bad decisions taken by the NDC government, but pledged that the Minority would continue to apply pressure until the price cut are restored. She explained that the tour was intended to engage farmers directly, understand their challenges, and share the Minority’s position on what they believe led to the price cut.
“We have come to explain to you the untrue explanations by government and to promise you that this fight to restore your monies will not stop. If they think we as Minority will surrender, I can assure you: it is a No Retreat, No Surrender fight. There will be no peace for this government until the price cut is restored.”
Hon. Appiagyei also cautioned that the government’s actions risk making farming unattractive.
