91 Trainees Pass Out From “NAPO” Sponsored TVET Project.

Ninety-one (91) persons from the Manhyia South Constituency last Friday graduated from a skills training project initiated by the College of Beauty and Arts and Entrepreneurship (CBAE) and the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).

Sponsored with the provision of start-up equipment by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh (NAPO), the graduating students or beneficiaries enrolled in three special training on hairdressing, fashion design, and make-up artistry.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Abbeys Park, Dr Prempeh expressed delight at the opportunity to offer support to 91 persons who had acquired skills to teach others, set up their own businesses as well as employ others and move on in life.

He promised to sponsor similar training for others including persons who deal with leather ware so that they could learn current trends of shoe designs and acquire certification through same.

“My vision as a servant of the People of Manhyia South and as Minister in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government is to use the influence I have to better the lot of my people and others since that is the very reason people are given power and mandates to lead”, Dr Napo stated.

CBAE DIRECTOR:
Ms Rebecca Donkor, Chief Executive Officer for the College of Beauty and Arts Entrepreneurship (CBAE) commended the Minister for sponsoring the project each step of the way for the 91 beneficiaries despite requesting for 50 persons to train initially.

She noted that the beneficiaries apart from technical and critical skills they had learnt in the 8 weeks they spent undergoing training would also have the requisite certification backing them for their future work.

TVET DIRECTOR:
On his part, Mr Fred Kyei Asamoah, Director at the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) said he was happy at the exploits of the beneficiaries in just 8 weeks of training.

He noted the importance of skills training and asked that people learn to acquire such so that they could be employable or do something on their own with government support that is available in the many initiatives it has announced.

MAYOR OF KUMASI:
Hon Samuel Pyne, Mayor for Kumasi re-echoed the commitment of the NPP government to empower people with training and skills acquisition.

This, he noted is the best way to make people employable as well as the creators of their own jobs for their upkeep and others.

BENEFICIARIES:
Yaw Akoto, a beneficiary on the fashion design module thanked the CBAE and TVET outfits for giving them training as well as certification.

Sarah Fofie, make-up artistry beneficiary also commended Dr Napo for investing in their future by sponsoring the two months of training just to empower and make them useful to society.

Diana Dwumor, a beneficiary of the Hairdressing module said she was grateful to the project initiators and Dr Napo for ensuring that they learn to keep themselves abreast of modern trends of the business.
