81 People Died From Road Crashes During Christmas Festivities, 378 Others Injured – MTTD

Reports from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service have revealed that 81 persons died from road crashes during the Christmas festivities.

According to the MTTD, 378 others were also injured during the period across the country.

The deaths, according to the police, were recorded from December 19th to 25th within the Christmas period.

The Director-General of the MTTD, DCOP Francis Aboagye Nyarko bemoaned the rate at which road crashes occur in the country.

He noted that the situation is very worrisome and that much needs to be done to curb the menace on our roads to save lives and properties.

He stressed that his outfit in collaboration with relevant stakeholders would continue to put in measures and the necessary education to ensure road traffic laws are adhered to by all road users.
