6 Natural Drinks You Should Drink Every Morning To Boost Your Energy In Your 60s And Above

What we reach for first thing in the morning can set the course for our energy levels throughout the day.

Natural energy drinks contain nutrients and vitamins that can enhance alertness, concentration, physical performance, and boost our energy levels in the morning, especially in our 60s and above when our energy levels decline with increasing age.

Although everyone has unique nutritional needs due to the changes caused by ageing and others, one, two, or more of the following drinks can boost your energy levels in the morning.

1. Green juice

Green vegetable juice such as kale, spinach, and cucumber have proven to oxygenate the blood and naturally promote energy levels due to their high iron content. They also contain lots of nutrients that can nourish our ageing body and aid the proper functioning of our overall health.

2. Lemon water

Lemon water contains potassium that can improve brain and nerve functions, which increases alertness, enhance mental stimulation, reduces stress levels, and boost your feel-good hormones and energy levels.

3. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains potassium, amino acids and enzymes that can boost energy levels and relieve fatigue leaving you active and alert.

4. Coconut water

Coconut water contains minerals, antioxidants, and electrolytes like magnesium that can boost energy production, prevent fatigue and dehydration and improve your organ function.

5. Goji berry juice

Goji berry juice contains minerals, essential amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants that can improve mental focus, increase energy levels, and decrease stress and fatigue.

6. Green tea

Besides the high amount of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties in green tea, it can increase metabolic rate (which increases energy levels) and also help to burn fat. It can also decrease signs of ageing and fight other health problems.

Importantly, in our 60s and above, we should get enough sleep (up to 8 hours at night) and drink water (since many of us wake up dehydrated) to boost our energy levels and reduce the risk of diseases.
