4 Arrested Over Killing Of Mobile Money Vendor In Aflao

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor at Aflao in the Volta Region.

The suspects—Michael Sewornu, 34; Korku Agboada, 43; Atsu Agbagla, 36; and Utsuku Onyeso, 22, a Nigerian national—are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.

In a statement, the Volta Regional Police Command said the arrests were made on May 10 during a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

The operation was carried out by the Regional Police Intelligence Department (RPID), the SWAT Unit, the Operation Motherland Taskforce, and a local community watch group known as ‘ACTION NOW’.

According to the police, the suspects committed the crime on April 28, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m.

About five unidentified gunmen attacked and fatally shot Christopher Ahordo at Gbagblakope, near the Diamond Cement factory in Aflao.

The assailants allegedly fled with a bag believed to contain cash.

Renewing their call for public vigilance and cooperation, the police have urged residents to provide timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to combat crime in the region.
