Good news for fans of Ghanaian football clubs Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko as the NLA has pledged to pump millions of Ghana cedis as sponsorship to the teams.

This will be the National Lottery Authority (NLA’s) first time sponsoring a football club and it forms part of its recently introduced good causes initiative.

Information from confirmed sources from the NLA disclose that the outfit will be footing some major bills in areas of branding and visibility for both teams for the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season.

Millions of Ghana Cedis is budgeted as part of efforts to bring back the love Ghanaians have for football and also aimed at reviving the declining passion.

Hearts and Kotoko are the first two teams to benefit from the package but we are ably informed that the curtesy will be extended to other football teams in Ghana in the coming years.

Not only so, but rumor has it that the NLA is expected to launch one of its latest initiatives and products called Atena in the coming weeks.

Atena, which is a local term for goal, is a game of chance which gives football enthusiasts across the country an opportunity to predict five jersey numbers of their favorite club to win huge sums of money.

Sammy Awuku was appointed Director-General for the NLA earlier this year and this, according to sources, forms part of his game initiatives as leader.
