Exactly twenty three (23) years ago today, then candidate John Agyekum Kufuor graced a TESCON event to swear-in Chief Asenso Boakye as the first President of the confederacy.

TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy) is the student wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Ghana founded on 8 January 2000.

Since its formation, TESCON has been one of the most important wing of the NPPs student and political activism and grass-root mobilization.

Today, the first President of TESCON, Hon. Chief Asenso Boakye is Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Prior to that, he was the deputy Chief of Staff and Political Assistant to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; President of the Republic of Ghana.

He is currently the Minister for Works and Housing.
