Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed his determination to secure a win against Niger in their final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, aiming to restore pride despite failing to qualify for the tournament.
Following a 1-1 draw against Angola last Friday, Ghana was officially eliminated from contention for the competition, which is set to be hosted in Morocco next year.
However, the team will face Niger on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium in a bid to finish third in Group F.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference on Sunday, Addo stressed the importance of delivering a strong performance.
“We are looking forward to tomorrow [to beating Niger], not to end up last,” he remarked.
“We want to beat them [Niger] for our honour and for third place,” he added.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
Ghana currently sits fourth in Group F with three points after five matches, having recorded three draws and two defeats.
