Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has assured that the team has a plan to play without key midfielder Thomas Partey for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.
Ghana will face the Falcons today October 10 in the first leg of their 2025 AFCON qualifying doubleheader at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.
Unfortunately, captain Thomas Partey is unavailable due to a medical issue and could not join the squad. In his absence, Mohammed Kudus will take over captain duties for the match.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Otto Addo emphasized that his focus is on the players who are available rather than those who are missing.
“This is my job. We have different solutions how we could play and we as a staff discussed it and I chose one at the end and I’m very very sure it will work,” he remarked.
“We are not thinking too much about the players not here, it’s more about the players which are here, their qualities and how we can inspire them to perform,” he added.
Ghana, still seeking their first win of the qualifiers, will head to Libya for the return leg of the doubleheader at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Matchday 4.
The Black Stars currently sit third in Group F with just one point.
