2025 AFCONQ: I Am Convinced Of A Win Against Angola But … – Ghana Coach Otto Addo

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo is confident his team can secure a win against Angola, but he acknowledges the challenge ahead.

Ghana will face the Palancras Negras in their opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium later today.

In their previous two encounters over the last two years, Ghana emerged victorious with a slim 1-0 win in Kumasi.

Despite recognizing the difficulties posed by Angola, Addo remains optimistic about securing all three points.

“I’m convinced that we can beat them, but it won’t be easy. And also we had some injuries, but I think the squad is ready,” he said at Wednesday’s presser.

Addo also extended his well-wishes to injured players, including Kamaldeen Sulemana, Gideon Mensah, and Alexander Djiku.

“We have a lot of players who can match up. And surely on this way, I wish all the players who are injured, Kamaldeen, Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku and the rest so we have more which are injured and I wish them a speedy recovery and then we see how the season goes when they come back,” he added.

The match against Angola kicks off at 16:00 GMT. Ghana’s next Group F fixture will be against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Berkane.
