Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, George Afriyie, has responded after having his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the GFA dismissed. Afriyie was disqualified after failing to secure enough GFA members’ signatures to his candidature when filing his nomination form. He appealed the decision but the Elections Committee’s disqualification was upheld by the Appeals Committee forcing Afriyie to pursue the case outside the GFA’s jurisdiction. The Electoral Commission (EC) has deployed Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits and other logistics to its regional and district offices ahead of the voter registration exercise scheduled to start tomorrow.
