As part of Ghana’s Strategy for boosting trade with the rest of Africa the government, the government established the National African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Coordination Office under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The NCO has over the last 2 years implemented strategies designed to create awareness of Ghanaian stakeholders and Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and to prepare them to participate on the African market. Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club, have received support from Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of their participation in next season’s CAF Champions League. Akufo-Addo pledged to the Tarkwa-based side on Wednesday, August 2, on their visit to the Presidency to present the league trophy. Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Mines and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa, led the players to meet the President. The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023, commissioned the ultra-modern Simplified Sewerage Facility and Treatment Plant at Ashaiman, and the rehabilitated and expanded Bankuman Simplified Sewerage Plant.
