A newly-constructed Astroturf has been commissioned for the Bremang community in the Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region, to promote sports and recreation among the youth in the area. Criminals Target ECG Transformers With Over 20 Lost In Tema Region In 2022

Transformers of the Electricity Company of Ghana ( ECG) in the Tema region continue to remain a target for criminals as the power distributor lost over 20 transformers in 2022. Prampram district alone recorded 18 incidents within the period. Kpone Senior High School area, PS Global, Abbey Lighthouse and Tsopoli Heaven’s Gate under the district are the locations where the incidents took place. Average of cost of transformers lost hovers around ¢69,000 with bigger ones costing even more. Apart from Prampram, Afienya district also had three transformers attacked in December. Fuel Prices Drop By 8%

Some leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have begun reducing prices of some petroleum products at the pumps. Market leader, GOIL, has announced more than 8% reduction in fuel prices. It has slashed the the price of diesel by ¢1.50 to now sell at ¢14.60 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is going for ¢12.40 per litre, representing a decline of ¢1.
