2022 CAA Champs: Rose Yeboah Wins Gold For Ghana

Rose Yeboah has won Ghana’s first goal medal at the 2022 African Senior Athletics Championships in Mauritius, clearing the bar at 1.79m to win the women’s high jump.

Rose beat her close contenders – Temitope Adeshina of Nigeria and Yvonne Robson of South Africa – to the gold medal in Mauritius.

The University of Cape Coast student also won gold at the African Games in Rabat in 2019.

The 21-year-old also holds the Ghana University Sports Association Games record with 1.85m.

Sean Safo-Antwi

Meanwhile, sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi’s campaign ended on day 1 after he missed out on the men’s 100m final.

Safo-Antwi ran 10:28s in the heats to qualify for the semis, but only finished sixth (10.31s), missing out on the final.

Team Ghana is comprised of four athletes, including Joseph Paul Amoah and Duncan Agyemang, and is coached by former national athlete Leo Myles-Mills.
