2021 In Review With Dr. Charles Dwamena (Dr. China)
Political participation brings people together and creates a family that becomes stronger and everlasting with time.
That is what I find in the New Patriotic Party (NPP); a family of different people from various backgrounds, tribes and places bonded together by same ideologies and a common political culture.
To keep in touch with members of such a huge family, I call, chat, or personally visit the various polling stations, constituencies and regions to familiarize myself with issues and happenings in those areas.
The quest to get in touch with my people took me to the Bono East Region in November, 2021.
There, I visited some party members, executives and dignitaries in constituencies such as Techiman North, Nkoranza North and South, and Atebubu.
Such visits gave me the opportunity to know Ghana the more, get more insights into what is actually happening at the grassroots of our party, and also solidified the bond among us.
We deliberated on the way forward for our party, the youth, the grassroot activists, and how to break the eight-year (two-term) governance system in Ghana.
We also discussed how to enhance individual and group development in the party. I used the opportunity to explain how policy proposals such as the #welfare_fund, #business_incubation_fund and #MICRO, among others, shall help in efficiently utilising the millions of cedis the party will raise every year through an effective resource mobilization process.
