2021 Black Star International Film Festival Kicks Off
The 2021 edition of the prestigious Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) has officially kicked off with the announcement of submissions for the festival.
Filmmakers are expected to submit their works for consideration before the deadline on March 31, 2021.
The BSIFF 2021 will continue from a stellar digital event held in 2020, according to organisers.
The official date for the main event is yet to be confirmed and also whether it will be a virtual event like the previous year.
The BEIFF is a non-profit annual festival founded by Juliet Asante in 2015 to bridge the gap between African movie cinema and the global community of movie makers as well as focus on the business aspect of film making.
In the last few years, it provided distribution opportunities to emerging filmmakers as well as educating and informing budding filmmakers on relevant industry standards.
Film industry observers believe the 2021 event will be tough one for the festival since not many filmmakers have shot films due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Nonetheless, stakeholders are hoping and looking forward to an amazing Black Star International Film Festival 2021.
