Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac says Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will prove his doubters wrong in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Serbian coach has tipped Thomas Partey to win the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Arsenal midfielder was unimpressive in Ghana’s opening game against Morocco which ended in a defeat.
The 28-year-old assisted Sofiane Boufal to score in the 83rd minute to hand the Black Stars their first defeat in the competition.
However Milovan Rajevac is confident the former Atletico Madrid midfielder can bounce back to showcase his quality and propel Ghana on to victory in their subsequent games.
“We analyzed the match, Thomas maybe this match performance was not at his level but he’s a great player and will prove critics wrong, I think he will be the best in this tournament,” said the Serbian trainer ahead of the Gabon game on Friday.
The 28-year-old is expected to play an advanced role in Ghana’s next game against Gabon on Friday.
