2 Juveniles Remanded Over Murder Of JHS Graduate

The Asokwa District Court has remanded two juveniles in custody, following their alleged involvement in the killing of a 16-year-old boy at Anloga, in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Dennis Owusu Ansah, a recent Basic Education Certificate Exam­ination (BECE) graduate set to start Senior High School, after an argument led to the main suspect, a 16-year-old girl, allegedly stabbing the victim.

The second suspect, a 15-year-old girl is accused of abetting the murder.

Ehen, the accused first appeared before court, the female suspect was charged with murder and caus­ing injury to Ansah, while the other female suspect was charged with abetment of murder.

The case has been adjourned to November 20.

Victor Owusu-Ansah, the brother of Dennis, after court pro­ceedings, expressed confidence in the justice delivery system, after the court denied the suspects’ request for bail.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred following a dispute between Dennis and one of the girls while the trio was escorting a friend home.

Reports indicate that during the altercation, one of the girls allegedly stabbed Dennis in the rib with a knife, causing severe bleeding. Dennis was rushed to the hospital, where he was pro­nounced dead upon arrival.
